privacy policy
Last updated: [septiembre 30, 2026]
I’m here to talk about books, fictional disasters, and characters who desperately need therapy. But running a website also involves handling some personal information, and you deserve to know what happens to yours.
I’ll keep this readable. Nobody came here for a surprise legal trilogy.
who runs this place?
can’t, I’m reading… (cantimreading.com) is run by Sara, also known as Sarix, from Spain.
For data-protection purposes, the person responsible for your information—the “data controller”—is:
Sara González
Contact: sarix@cantimreading.com
Sarix handles the book opinions. I handle the paperwork. An unfair arrangement, honestly.
what information is collected?
There are currently no reader accounts, comments, contact forms, or newsletter sign-ups on this website.
However, visiting a website involves sending technical information to the server that delivers its pages. If you email me, you also share information directly with me.
Here’s what that means.
when you browse
This website uses WordPress and is hosted by IONOS. Technical information processed to deliver and protect the website can include your IP address, the pages or files requested, the time of your visit, browser and device information, and the referring page.
This information helps keep the website available, diagnose problems, and prevent misuse. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in operating a functioning, secure website, under Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR.
[Confirm the IONOS plan’s log data, anonymisation, retention period, and whether SiteAnalytics is enabled. Describe any active statistics service here before publication.]
when you email me
If you email me, I receive your email address, your name if you provide it, and whatever you include in your message.
I use this information to respond and deal with your enquiry. Ordinary correspondence is handled on the basis of my legitimate interest in responding to messages. When you exercise a data-protection right, I process the necessary information to meet my legal obligations.
You choose what to share. Your entire life story is not required, although I understand how a conversation about a book can get out of hand.
Emails are kept while the enquiry and any necessary follow-up are being handled, then deleted unless there is a legal requirement or an ongoing dispute that justifies keeping them longer.
who handles this information?
IONOS provides the website hosting. My email provider, IONOS, processes messages sent to the contact address above.
These providers handle information as necessary to supply their services. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.
[Confirm the relevant providers, any additional services used by WordPress plugins, and whether information is processed outside the European Economic Area. If it is, explain the applicable safeguards and how readers can obtain details.]
cookies, the less exciting kind
Cookies are small files that a website can store on your device. Their privacy implications depend on what they actually do.
[After checking the website, describe any cookies or similar technologies used, their purposes, providers, and lifetimes. If none are used for ordinary visitors, state that instead. Include consent controls where required.]
Unfortunately, none of this involves chocolate chips.
links to other websites
You’ll find links to other websites here, including reading platforms such as Fable, Goodreads, and The StoryGraph.
If you follow one of those links, the destination website handles your information under its own privacy policy. Take a look at that policy if you want to know what it collects.
your information, your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you can ask to:
-
Access the personal information held about you.
-
Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.
-
Delete your information.
-
Restrict how your information is used.
-
Object to processing based on legitimate interests.
-
Receive or transfer your information where the right to data portability applies.
Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw that consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
To make a request, email sarix@cantimreading.com. I may need limited additional information to verify your identity. I will normally respond within one month; if a lawful extension is needed, I’ll explain why within that first month.
You can also lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) or your relevant data-protection authority. You do not need to contact me first.
if things change
If I add a newsletter or other features that change how personal information is handled, I’ll update this policy and provide any required notices or consent choices before the new processing begins.
For now, there is no newsletter to subscribe to. My fictional dependants are already demanding enough.
The date at the top of this page shows when this policy was last updated.
